Discover mountain trails, river sounds and sweeping natural views.
Just 15 minutes from downtown Santa Ana, Montañas de Cariblanco feels like a full escape into nature. Here you can enjoy Costa Rica's flora, fauna and mountain air without traveling far from the city.
Walk beside the river, cross forest and coffee fields, climb to scenic viewpoints and reach La Angelita waterfall, one of the treasures of the property.
On your way back, refresh yourself in the pools downstream or relax by the river on our picnic terraces.
HIKING
Montañas de Cariblanco is a safe place to hike at your own pace or with company. Whether you are just getting started or already love hiking, there are trails for different interests and levels.
The main trail to La Angelita waterfall is about 3.75 km and usually takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Its difficulty is moderate, with a more demanding section near the waterfall.
Entering the waterfall itself is not allowed because its water is collected by AyA for drinking water, but there are natural pools downstream where you can cool off.
The route is not recommended for older adults who do not hike, very young children or people with mobility limitations. Expect natural mountain obstacles such as mud, rocks and fallen branches.
TRAIL RUNNING
Our trails are also great for trail running. Try the Reto Tutillo, a roughly 450 m climb with 165 m of elevation gain.
DOG WALKING
We are pet friendly. You and your pets are welcome on the trails; we simply ask that you manage waste responsibly and keep them under control around other visitors and pets.

Reservation Information
For trails only, advance reservation is generally not required on weekends. Weekday visits are possible by prior arrangement; contact us on WhatsApp to confirm availability.
